BookEnds is a Los Angeles based non-profit organization working towards literacy and leadership for youth through student led book drives. This year, we plan to facilitate over 50 book drives with each generating between 2,000 and 6,000 books. Over the past twelve years, BookEnds has collected and distributed over two million books into the hands of children who otherwise would not have access to quality books!

I'm a kid, how can I help?

We happily work with volunteers in a variety of ways depending on our needs. 

Right now our most pressing need to is to get the Discover Books 100,000 book donation sorted and distributed into the eager hands of children in Los Angeles.  We are looking for groups to help us (sororities/fraternities, book clubs, offices, etc.)  Please email us to set up your sorting date - and feel free to make it a party (bring music and food).  The sortings take place at the Calabasas Inn (just off the 101) and can be held anytime (weekdays or evenings, weekends).  By the way, this is a gaylord, and we have 40 of them!

We are always looking for volunteer photographers for our sortings and deliveries.

Grab your friends, co-workers, book club members or family and come help out at a monthly book sorting!  It takes a village to get books into the hands of kids who need them!  Our next in-office sorting is on January 4, 2013 from 9:30 - 12:30.  Please RSVP to info@bookends.org.
